A Deck is a collection of cards used when Dueling other characters and players. You can only use cards within your Deck and Extra Deck during a Duel, and you cannot switch Decks in the middle of a Duel.
Each character in the game comes with one Deck slot by default, but the number of Deck Slots can increase over time.
Building Decks is an essential skill in the game because it allows players to develop their own strategies and play styles.
To edit your Decks, select a Deck slot from any of your characters to display its contents on the screen. The Deck Editor will show the cards in your Deck and all the cards you currently have.
You can add or remove any number of cards to and from your Deck as long as it does not go over the limit.
The Auto-Build Deck Tool allows you automatically build Decks from scratch or automatically completes your Deck based on one or more cards you have chosen.
The Tool also has the option to include cards that you do not own to give you an idea on what cards to obtain in the future.
All cards that belong in the Extra Deck, such as Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ Monsters are automatically placed in the Extra Deck slots when selected.
The minimum size of a Main Deck is 20 cards, while the maximum size is 30 cards. The game allows you to save Decks that are more or less than these numbers, but you cannot use these Decks in Duels.
The ideal size of a Main Deck is no more than 25 cards.
Decklists are another form of pre-made Deck that players can use as blueprints to build their own Decks. Your available Decklists can be found in the Duel Studio.
The cards in a Decklist remain grayed out until you obtain that card. You can copy a Decklist to any of your available Deck slots.
Additional Deck Slots can be obtained by leveling up characters and by purchasing them in the Shop.
The best Decks are not only usable during in-game missions, but are also viable when Dueling against other players. No matter what Deck you choose, it is important to learn and master the many strategies of using them in Duels.
Not all players construct their Decks from scratch. There are many existing Decks that people use or build upon to fit their play style. These types of Decks are best for beginners who are still familiarizing themselves with individual cards.
Structure Decks are a form of pre-made Deck, which are purchasable in the Shop. These Decks include a complete set of cards that can be played together as a Deck.
To view your Decks, you can click on the Deck icon located beside the character level on the bottom of the screen.
You will be brought to the Deck Editor, where you can view all your characters' Deck slots and their contents.
